The editor in his study, surrounded by film books

A Personal Manifesto

I do not review films.
I listen to them.

FrameState began as a notebook. Late nights after late screenings, a single legal pad and the residue of whatever I'd just watched still moving in the room. I never wanted a star rating system. I wanted to find out what a film had done to me.

The films I return to share something stubborn — they refuse to explain themselves. They trust silence. They believe a face, held long enough, becomes its own theology. I write to keep up with that trust.

If you've ever stayed in your seat after the credits because you weren't ready to be a person yet, this journal is for you.
